Located in the heart of the Dutch capital's Oosterdokseiland, the City Campus provides optimal working conditions.
In addition to office spaces, the state-of-the-art building encompasses three roof terraces and three restaurants over an area of 65,000 m². The campus has achieved BREEAM Excellent certification for its sustainable concept.
Thousands of plants create an invigorating atmosphere, while generous daylight streams in through the fully glazed façades and roof.
There are 832 solar panels on the roof. Deep under the earth, thermal energy storage uses natural energy to provide the building with cold or warm air, keeping it energy efficient.
The 1272 multi-sensor ATMO presence detectors integrated into the KNX building automation also play a central role.
The configurations used here not only detect presence and brightness – they also detect room temperature (ATMO T) as well as humidity and air quality (ATMO O).
They provide presence- and daylight-dependent constant light control in all workspaces – the best and most efficient use of daylight.
By using their temperature sensors, the presence detectors can flexibly adjust the room temperature at the same time via climate ceilings: If people are present, the temperature automatically increases to a comfortable 21 °C, but if nobody is present, the temperature drops again for greater energy efficiency.
The primary method for temperature control in the building is the ventilation system, with ventilation outlets embedded in the floor.
The ATMO O variants use their air quality sensors to keep the indoor climate at an optimal level: If the specified thresholds are exceeded, these presence detectors boost the supply of fresh air – and then reduce it again afterwards to save energy.
